Editor's Message

Wow, what a month we have coming up, An April meeting, A Home Aquaria Tour, and an IFGA Guppy Show in Los Angeles. It's almost more than an old body can stand! And to top it all off, the April Bowl Show is Guppies, in pairs of all things. That is always our best Bowl Show as Ben, Clyde and I are all very competitive. Ben has been known to scrape the very bottom of his lowest tank for one more entry!

The  April meeting is on Easter.

Congressional Hearing Banning Non Native Species

Would Destroy the Tropical Fish Hobby

I have heard today from Steve Grane, and now from Karen Kees. They  both want to call our attention to  HR 669, a bill that if passed would be very damaging to the tropical fish hobby. Here is Karen's email:

Hello SDTFS Board,

CONGRESSIONAL HEARING BANNING NONNATIVE SPECIES
April 23
Action needed

Steve Graen sent this; I haven't researched it. Apparently HR 669 would make most exotic species illegal to import, buy, sell, or own. Consequently, it threatens our tropical fish hobby.

If you can't open the document, contact:  PIJAC

Thanks for your attention,

Karen

Please take the time to read the info at the link above that Karen has provided. It is very alarming that such a bill could even be proposed. I think you will want to contact our legislators.
